The star has handed over the entirety of his £25k honor winnings to the MVT, which works to save the United Kingdom's independent music venues.
The star was given the prize on 16 October as his latest record People Watching was declared the outstanding release of the last 12 months.
He has opted to donate the funds to the trust, in appreciation of the essential function small stages had in his initial steps.
"As an artist couldn't be pursuing this success if it wasn't for all the gigs I played around the North East, and elsewhere, when I was just getting going," stated Sam Fender. "These spaces are iconic, but they are in difficulty."
From early 2023 onward, over 150 of these locations have ceased operations – about 16 percent of the total UK scene.
Recently, top acts including the band Pulp, Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its attempts to support the industry, by adding a modest fee to their admission fees, which benefits local stages.
He also participated, raising over £100k on his recent tour to support numerous local spots across the UK.
The money assisted spaces that were dealing with imminent closure due to challenges stemming from flooding, fires and family tragedies, as well as regulatory hurdles, legal disputes and sound issues.
Some locations were granted funding support in modernizing facilities and gear that positively impacted performers and concertgoers.
"The notion that money from performances in major spaces backs the local stages, where it begins for musicians like me, is just sensible," Sam Fender has stated.
Fender is among several artists to contribute his honor funds to charitable organizations.
Back when Pulp received the prize in the mid-90s for their album the album, vocalist Cocker stated that the act would give their winnings to the non-profit War Child.
In 2002, rapper and singer Ms Dynamite split her award among several organizations, like the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.
"And I donated a grand to the center, to their classes, because I practiced gymnastics when I was a child and they required updated gear," Ms Dynamite explained to the media.
Two years ago, the band contributed their prize money to the youth organization that developed their group, as well as other grassroots music organisations.
And 1994 winners M People gave their winnings to a charity for MS after a acquaintance was diagnosed the illness.
"Winning was sufficient," said singer the singer. "The prize was the cherry on top but we didn't need the bonus, because we had the cake. So our success impacted somebody else's life."
In the past week, the trust revealed it had saved several local spots in the South East, by placing them under community ownership.
One venue in Southampton and the second in the city were bought under the public acquisition program, which is backed by the arts council and supporters who acquire "shares" in the buildings.
